WORKSHOPS (each workshop will cover two topics).
Workshop 1
How do we ensure public policy serves the public?
Breakdown questions. |
"What are the solutions to systemic failure in food policy and regulation?" Food quality is synonymous with food safety, or is it? We will discuss government policy and the underlying problems of our present regulatory systems, and recommend solutions.
"How do we ensure quality food production underpins our economic advantages?" Any food safety threat to our exports is now a focus of world attention. We will discuss the risks and successes of various farming systems and recommend the best ways to ensure that our food is produced to the highest quality standards.
Workshop 2
How do we ensure food safety and agricultural sustainability serves the public for the future generations?
Breakdown questions. |
"What do we need to ensure food safety now and into the future?" Concerns are being raised by health professionals over food toxicity and an increase in related illness. This workshop will discuss and recommend agricultural methods for food production that will ensure our future health.
"How do we implement agricultural methods to ensure seed biodiversity and sustainable ecosystems?" Seed and biological diversity have declined with modern agricultural practices. This workshop will discuss and recommend policies and management systems on a national level for the protection of ecosystems, biodiversity and heritage seed.
